Knolling

"ALWAYS BE KNOLLING"

-Tom Sachs

The concept of these style frame's was to use the premise of an outline as an alternative way of showing the knolling. This concept was achieved by using negative space to create the 90-degree knolling angle, using ink to illustrate that idea and showing my interest and personality. The use of positive and negative space shows a contrast of how items give the idea that aren’t necessarily there but are displayed by the use of the negative space created by the ink. The concept also demonstrates an abstract nature revealing the money shot would be showed everything which is the entire point of knolling. By using silhouettes as the positive space shows what a persons true knowledge and personality is. The ink also represents my love of squids as well as my first execution of a great piece which won me a scholastic key. The runny ink is also an illusion showing a semi opaque nature of the wood which is also representative of nature.
